HEIC images and release history — v0.2.1
Released 2026-10-01 UTC
Added
- tools: Added website uploader preview and editing for supported HEIC/HEIF still images, with native decoding first, lazy self-hosted WebAssembly fallback, explicit WebP conversion, and saved WebP/PNG edit derivatives. Unedited originals can use server normalization when local conversion is unavailable.
- website: Added a public FooPixel FX showcase at /fx/: try all four hover effects, eight pixel bursts and seven colour schemes, with a pixel drum machine, a mini game, a charge button, and links to the open-source library.
Improved
- website, dashboard: Added public release history and visible version links in the website and dashboard footers.
- operations: Added change-note checks and protected release entry points for hosted production and Chrome extension releases. Production dispatch remains closed until release orchestration and remote protections are verified.
- operations: Added frozen artifact integrity and release recovery checks for controlled hosted rollouts. Production dispatch remains blocked until provider integration and remote protections are verified.
- operations: Added a Git-backed release ledger and checks for production repository protections. Production dispatch remains closed while provider integration and remote setup are pending.
- api, website, dashboard, tools, operations: Added an R2 adapter for retained hosted release artifacts. Production release dispatch remains closed until remote retention, access controls, and provider integration are verified.
- operations: Added frozen Worker bundles and Cloudflare deployment identity checks for governed hosted releases. Production dispatch remains closed until live baseline identity, credential boundaries, and remote protections are verified.
- operations, agents, website: Strengthened release verification for live footers, agent document delivery, and Cloudflare deployment recovery. Production dispatch remains closed until live baseline identity and external settings can be verified.
- website: Refreshed the public website with a retro pixel theme: self-hosted pixel display fonts, a CRT grid backdrop, glowing gradient buttons, LED upload readouts and a new dark footer across every page.
- dashboard: Refreshed the dashboard with the retro pixel theme: pressable key buttons, pixel checkboxes and switches, segmented progress meters, LED status tags and pixel-window dialogs, with the same controls and behaviour.
- tools: The free tools are more playful: pixel hover effects on every tool's drop zone, tool cards, headings and links, and pixel bursts when an export starts, finishes, downloads or gets a hosted URL.
- dashboard: Gave the dashboard sidebar pixel-art menu icons and a cleaner highlight for the current page.
- website: The pricing comparison's plan header now takes the top of the screen while you scroll the table, and its plan buttons wrap by whole words on phones.
- dashboard: Usage, profile, library and gallery figures in the dashboard now use the same typeface as the pricing page's allowance values.
- website, dashboard: The image editor now matches the pixel theme, with pressable buttons, a pixel window and matching popovers.
- operations: Updated website and dashboard page generation to load the shared pixel theme consistently, including API documentation and changelog pages.
- operations: Added guarded local production releases with retained artifacts, durable recovery, and verified rollout receipts. The local operator validates a clean main revision and current Cloudflare settings before deploying the API and website.
- website, dashboard, tools, operations: Aligned action rows with the pixel reference and refreshed shared control styles across hosted pages. Connected action rows use rounded navy panels, green indicators, and quiet compact actions. Shared stylesheet cache versions are refreshed across the website, tools, dashboard, and generated release pages.
- agents: Documented HEIC/HEIF upload normalization and browser editing guidance for API clients and agents. API clients can upload original bytes without processing for server normalization; website editing uses native decoding or an on-demand WebAssembly fallback for supported HEVC still images.
- website, dashboard: Refined upload queues with thumbnail wells, a live file count, and compact processing and ready indicators.
- dashboard: Align filtered lists with the pixel controls, including framed tables, compact search toolbars, inline visibility and selection count badges.
- dashboard: Frame checkbox and radio groups with rounded navy borders and compact labels set into the border.
- dashboard: Match feedback message spacing, tone icons, loading pixels and upload notice panels to the shared pixel controls.
Fixed
- api: Kept the published WebP filename, MIME type, checksum, and byte count aligned after server normalization.
- website: Every value in the pricing comparison table now uses the same typeface.
- website: Kept all FooPixel FX toolbar controls visible at intermediate desktop widths.
- dashboard: Corrected the pixel checkbox tick so its right arm follows a consistent diagonal.
- website, dashboard: Aligned the light and dark mode switch thumb and icons within the pixel theme track.
- dashboard: Matched radio buttons to the pixel theme with rounded-square outlines and cyan square selection marks.
- operations: Hosted releases now validate independently of Chrome extension release readiness.
- website, dashboard: Restored visible secondary plan buttons and pixel loading, error, and compact status panels.
- operations: Corrected Cloudflare inventory checks for live domain pagination and queue consumer responses. The local release guard accepts complete domain inventories without a total-pages field and verifies the Worker named in live queue consumer responses.
- website, dashboard, tools, operations: Flatten uploader queue headers, keep file counts compact, use accessible edit and remove icons, and keep Upload All visible when the queue extends below the viewport.
- dashboard: Stack uploader gallery visibility choices and place the image count beside a compact Create gallery button with the shared pixel effect.
- website, dashboard, tools, operations: Kept upload queue Edit and Remove icon targets at 40 by 40 pixels across site and dashboard themes.
- operations: Verified complete Cloudflare Worker version listings when the API omits total page metadata.
