How to use video preview generator
- Select an MP4. Choose the image tab for a single frame or the video tab for a short clip or GIF.
- Set the dimensions. Scrub to a frame for a still, or use the start and end sliders to select a moving preview.
- Generate and inspect the result. Download it, host it on FooPixel, or use the button below the tool to open the same MP4 in the optimizer.
Choose a preview that explains the video
A still image loads without requiring the whole video to play. Choose a clear frame with a recognizable subject, avoiding a fade or mid-transition blur. For a moving preview, pick a short sequence that makes sense without the rest of the video.
Choose between a still, MP4 and GIF
Use WebP for a poster or thumbnail. Use MP4 when smooth motion and efficient delivery matter. GIF is useful when an animated image is required, but its limited palette and 6 fps output are better suited to simple motion than detailed photographic scenes.
Preview first, then publish
Check the generated file, including its dimensions and size. Processing stays local until you choose Host on FooPixel. Hosting provides a public file URL, so only publish media you intend to share.

Common questions
Can I choose the exact frame?
Use the image slider and time controls to seek within the video. Seeking depends on the browser's decoder and source timestamps; this is a visual frame picker, not a frame-accurate editing suite.
Can I make several outputs from one MP4?
Yes. Generate an image, a video preview and a GIF from the same selected MP4. Each output has its own preview and download.
Do I need to select the file again when optimizing it?
No. Use Open in Video optimizer below the loaded tool. This preserves the input within the current tab; a page reload clears it.
Is it free and private to use?
You can process and download files for free without an account. The browser may download processing software, but your source media stays on your device. Only choosing Host on FooPixel uploads the generated output, which becomes publicly accessible after validation.
